Ryder was always a traitor, LB, Game Timeline

Hello, I want to share with you the data I collected about Ryder's betrayal, and the true chronology of the game.

If someone here is a YouTuber, they can present this data and evidence in their own languages. you can copypaste all this or make fun of me, I'm not interested.

For years, many users have talked about Ryder's betrayal, which was forced into the plot, and that the developers hadn't planned to make him a traitor.

A COMPLETE LIE.

Look, I don't mind if someone thinks differently, but I do mind when people spread misinformation, don't investigate enough, and just give verdicts without properly analyzing anything. Today they do it with a character, okay, it's something unimportant, it's something that nobody cares about, but tomorrow they will be deceived by politicians, deceived by influencers, deceived by their loved ones. Sorry if I'm so passionate about my behavior, but I don't get involved in political and social issues, That's why I prefer to put my social criticisms on unimportant fictional characters.

I did pay attention to the story and the dialogues, I always thought that Ryder was a traitor in the story, but when I heard from users that Ryder was never a traitor, I doubted, but then I analyzed everything, and the excuse that users gave was always the same, YES, Ryder was fitted into the Green Sable cinematic, and he also reused dialogues in the Pier 69 mission, but that's because the game has BAD DIRECTION, this does not mean that Ryder was never a traitor, because there is plenty of evidence in the GAME ITSELF, as well as in discarded content, that leave him in a bad light.

Then there are the other excuses from users like "Ryder does shoot the ballas, not like Smoke" Yes, I am not denying Smoke's betrayal. That's called creating a straw man, it's not an argument, right now we're talking about Ryder's betrayal, not Smoke's.

Ok, first before telling you about Ryder, I want to explain how the game's dialogues work, the text in the image highlighted in yellow is for the Photo Opportunity mission, what is highlighted in orange is what happens when we lose at any point in the mission, (Maybe originally the code runs from YA to YK if we win and from YA to YJ if we lose.) Using Excel basics, I can organize dialogs in a table, so I can see the actual order of the dialogs, if there are any discarded dialogs, which dialogs were discarded, etc. thanks to Sergeanur for the Decompiled text lines, he is the real MVP here.

the image below is an example of how the game runs the dialogues (programmers using these methods can put a part before, change its place for another, reuse them, etc.)

But any modder already knew that, I just wanted to explain it for users who didn't know anything about this.

Now many will think that I'm going to use this to incriminate Ryder, and others will think that this doesn't count when talking about the game because it's something discarded, but I'm not going to use anything discarded, I'm only going to rely on things that happen in the game itself.

First, let's talk about Ryder's friend, LB. To this day, there are people who think he's a Grove buddy, and I've heard people create stories about him as a gang member. The truth is harsher than many think.

[MLOC02J:STRAP1] ~z~You gotta - click.
[MLOC02K:STRAP1] ~z~Ah shut up. Motherf*cker.
Did you notice anything strange? First, the in-game timeline isn't the same as the code. Second, even OG Loc's mission mentions LB. Remember, they both betrayed the gang.

LB

Share definition
aka Little B*tch; (noun) Person who seeks eternal attention, confirmation, has a sense of entitlement and who quickly blames others for any unpleasant events which happen within their lives. Warning: extended interactions with said person will cost a large portion of your time and/or money with no gain and possibly lower your self esteem as everything will be your fault.
Matt is being an LB to his employees but the company isn't even his, it belongs to his dad.

Avoid Kain as he is being an LB because he was fired from his job and he believes it is because his manager was threatened by how smart he is.

This isn't a theory, these are things that happen in the game itself. Everything we do in Ryder's missions is to get weapons that the Loco Syndicate keeps.

This explanation is Toreno theory friendly.

It's ironic that right after Ryder's mission codes comes the OG Loc mission, Life's a Beach.

Why did they put Ryder on the Green Sable mission then?
because during the Photo Opportunity mission there was an error in Cesar's audio recordings.

Listen to the photo opportunity mission again. You'll notice that Cesar's audio recordings are overlapping. There was an error or oversight in his lines of dialogue.

That's why they put him on the Green Sable mission, Because their betrayal was going to be very hasty with the content they had of the photo opportunity.

This is a graph I made to understand Ryder's betrayal.

To understand the graph you have to understand a few things.

Remember the bicycle in the alley at the beginning of the game?
Well, that bicycle shouldn't be there.
  1. The bicycle tutorial is shown in the funeral mission. It makes no sense to show us a bicycle tutorial when we supposedly already knew how to use it.
  2. CJ tells Tenpenny it's a Balla neighborhood, and even CJ thinks so, so the plot suggests he's going to meet the Ballas. That was replaced so we could easily get through the part with a bicycle.
  3. CJ, among his answers to the Ballas, says he's from the Orange Grove, which shows that the scenes where we respond to dialogues are some of the earliest things in the game.
  4. The game was going to be played out through the decisions the player makes, including the answers.
  5. Do you remember the dialogues I posted about the Photo Opportunity mission at the beginning of the post? Well, that's just one route, there's another route where the whole dialogue changes. [SYN1_IA:SYN1] to [SYN1_LC:SYN1]
  6. Did you understand the previous point? Well, it's not the only mission with routes. In fact, from the beginning of the game, routes would emerge based on how we respond to Tenpenny. when he made us get out of the taxi

Remember when the Ballas come on the funeral mission and the GSF shoot the Ballas?
Well, that doesn't happen.
  1. It is explained in the mission Nines & AK's that the grove has no weapons, This is clearly seen in the first missions of the game that are carried out without weapons, until the mission of Emmet.
  2. If the Groves were armed, they would have stayed to fight, as happened in the Drive-thru mission, and what the Ballas did at the Los Sepulcros mission.
  3. "But Ryder has a gun at the start of the game" (well, besides that he never used the gun so I doubt it would work) that was Ryder's route.
  4. All routes have their own way of obtaining weapons. Ryder: stealing the weapons. Smoke: Emmet. Cesar: Same place I buy my pants, holmes. This is America!
So the chronology would be explained like this.

Smoke Route:
  • We managed to elude the police from robbing us, but not the Ballas, and we arrived at CJ's house, We meet Smoke, we can save the game.
  • Smoke's mission, this mission was cut from the game and consisted of going to the funeral with the car, This is the car tutorial. (perhaps we would have to evade the ballas who were following us.)
  • Funeral mission, after Smoke's mission, bicycle tutorial, GSF without weapons, they just escape.
  • Mission Nines & AKs, The GSF are unprotected from the Ballas, need weapons, Smoke and CJ enlist Emmet's help. Weapons tutorial.
  • Drive-Thru, the face of Smoke's betrayal.
Ryder Route:
  • We don't avoid being robbed by the police, but we do avoid the Ballas. possible alley bicycle tutorial, we arrived at CJ's house, The scene is possibly cut when CJ sees the photograph of his mother, we can save the game.
  • Ryder's mission, the game tells us to go to Ryder's house, we meet him and it's like it's the first time we see him in the game. car tutorial. (perhaps we buy things with what Ryder gives us, because the police robbed us.)
  • Tagging up Turf mission, This happens after Ryder's mission because Ryder tells us that Sweet is involved in that graffiti thing. In fact, Ryder is getting into trouble with the pizzeria over that issue. Although Sweet is angry about running away from the funeral, in the end we explained to Sweet that the police robbed us, we received a certain amount of money depending on how we say it.
  • Cleaning the Hood, The Grove people can't fight if they're high. Ryder and CJ will have to fight the dealers. The dealers didn't just affect Grove, they also affected the Ballas. Without dealers, the business is free.
  • Drive-By, the face of Ryder's betrayal.
Sweet and Smoke: Cleaning the Hood
[SWE1B06:SWEET1B] ~z~Man, all they care about is smoking and money.
[SWE1B07:SWEET1B] ~z~You can't knock a homie's hustle, Sweet.
[SWE1B08:SWEET1B] ~z~Them marks ain't soldiers. They're idiots trying to be business men.
[SWE1B09:SWEET1B] ~z~Yeah, but they're down with us, man.
[SWE1B10:SWEET1B] ~z~All they down with is money.

CJ and B-Dup: Cleaning the Hood

[SWE1C01:SWEET1B] ~z~CJ? What the f*ck you want? Get the f*ck outta here.
[SWE1C02:SWEET1B] ~z~Wait, hold up, man. What happened to 4 life, n*gga?
[SWE1C03:SWEET1B] ~z~The only thing that matters is the hood, homie,
CJ and Ryder: Cleaning the Hood
[SWE1C16:SWEET1B] ~z~I see what you mean now, man. If crack can do that to Big Bear, turn him into a base slave,
[SWE1C17:SWEET1B] ~z~the average motherf*cker ain't got a chance.
[SWE1C18:SWEET1B] ~z~Damn dope fiends and drug addicts everywhere in this city. Piss me off.

CJ and Ryder: Catalyst

[RYD3_MA:RYDER3] ~z~Damn, homie, your stuff was tight!
[RYD3_MB:RYDER3] ~z~You too, homie!
[RYD3_MC:RYDER3] ~z~LB's coming over to stash the sh*t.
[RYD3_MD:RYDER3] ~z~Okay, later then.
[RYD3_ME:RYDER3] ~z~For life, CJ, for life - you heard?

So there's a route where Ryder and Smoke aren't traitors?

[LA1FIN1] Reuniting the Families
[LA1FIN2] The Green Sabre
Maybe there is a Sweet route, where missions like Los Sepulcros, Doberman, Nines & AK's or Cleaning the Hood are played, and we end up with missions like Reuniting the Families. But everything indicates that all routes are canon, all paths lead to the same conclusion, it can be said that originally in Ryder's route we skipped missions like the funeral and if we took Smoke's route, we skipped missions like Ryder's first one. But talking about that is more of a speculation.

Why don't they mention Ryder in the Green Sable mission?
[SYND_1]Photo Opportunity
[SYND_2]Jizzy
[SYND_3]Outrider
[SYND_4]Ice Cold Killa
[SYND_5]Pier 69
[SYND_6]Toreno's Last Flight
[SYND_7]Yay Ka-Boom-Boom

Well, there are the mission packs, Possibly Ryder's story was going to end in an expansion "Loco
Syndicate" But you don't have to think too hard about Ryder. Ryder and OG Loc are secondary characters. If Rockstar didn't want to work on his death more, there's a reason. Many people will like him. But Ryder's missions are inconsequential.

That everything he gets goes to LB, that's in the game, that he's also in the drug business, he also appears in photo opportunities, CJ also regrets his death. There is no reason to think that Ryder was ever intended as a traitor. Everything indicates that he was always thought of as a traitor, it's just that the game is poorly directed in its parts.

Home Invasion

[RYD1_GB:RYDER1] ~z~What? I'll give up the water if you give up being a busta.
[RYD1_GC:RYDER1] ~z~Hold it right there, homie.
[RYD1_GD:RYDER1] ~z~Buster!
[RYD1_GE:RYDER1] ~z~Forget it.
[RYD1_GF:RYDER1] ~z~Forget you, fool!
[RYD1_GG:RYDER1] ~z~One day you're gonna wish you hadn't pissed me off!
