La canción de Alicia - Transalation of Instagram Band and Flavio Post (all questions solved)

Hello: to understand the context you first have to know the case of Alicia's song:

to summarize: first a video made by Flavio aka Jitomate Triste (a member of the band) was uploaded in the Facebook group "indie 505", after years the band and the song was discovered by Jmike and then the members did a live on Instagram

This is a translation of the Instagram live that Bad Influence, the band of Alicia's song, did.

Part 1 - Transalation of Instagram and Flavio Post

There is a lot that they clarified but I know that people don't speak Spanish around these parts so I will try to translate everything

band members:
-Diego: composer and voice. (Red Cap)
-Carlos: cousin of Diego and drummer of the band (white t-shirt)
-Jesus: guitar (black t-shirt)

There were other members like Flavio (Judas) but we will get to that topic. According to the three members, the one who created the song is Diego, he made all the structure, Carlos and Jesus made arrangements and Flavio did not make the composition.

Lyrics: they don't have it.

is a garage band with a lot of improvised music, many of their songs do not have a name like 6th song (6ta Cancion) they are soon going to release official lyrics, one thing they clarified is that they do say "under the star" and that at the beginning of In the song they say "this love is a mystery" but then in another part they say "this love is a misery" so they say both things.

There is a video of the song subtitled in Spanish where Diego said that they are very close to what he wanted to say and convey (he did not say which video)

The dream 4ever song has a pronunciation problem because Diego composed it in 2016 when he didn't know English very well.

Gender: they don't have.

They say they have a genre, yes, but by song, they play britpop, punk, post punk, indie, and their influences are oasis, the strokes, artic monkeys and red hot chili pepper, in the song "dream 4ever" Diego told Carlos that the drums sounded like Oasis and Carlos based it on Wonderwall, hence the similarity.

other members:

-Jhoan (I don't know if I wrote it correctly): Carlos's cousin, together with Diego, made the first formation and he was a guitarist but he was replaced by Jesus who played in an orchestra, Jesus says that in Dream 4ever he made his first solo.

After Jhoan left, other members joined because they needed a second guitar and bass. According to Carlos, many different guitarists passed through the band. Many of them went to one or two rehearsals and then left and were replaced by others.
  • Diego (guitar)
  • Gerardo (bass) they say he was their first bassist and he is an artist, he is on Spotify (gerardo heredia, he is from Peru, look for him and see if you can find him)
  • Alex (guitar)
  • Flavio (bass)
  • Andrew (guitar) They say that along with Flavio he was the one who lasted the longest in the band, he even appeared in the video for the song Dream 4ever where they play live with a button-down shirt.
  • Another Jesus (bass) appears in the video of the 6th song.
  • Kevin (bass)
  • Another Kevin (guitar)
The stories say that once all the members got together so that Da Vinci could paint the Last Supper, (I'm sorry, this is my joke, I couldn't hold back)

The band broke up, Carlos and Jesus wanted to play another genre and Diego even went to the United States.

Story of Flavio:

Ok, the band apparently had no vision of the market or industry, it was a very improvised band (maybe that's why so many guitarists came along) Flavio says that there was "toxicity" in the group. The members, for their part, said in the live that Flavio was a lover, that he liked the music they played and how it sounded.

Flavio (the one who made Alicia's video with the demo song) said that he was Jitomate Triste on a secondary account and according to screenshots Flavio was desperate to release the song.

translation of the image: Flavio shares the video, the other members laugh or say it's very stone (I don't know what it means but it seems to be a criticism) Flavio responds that he already wants to launch it. f*cking mother (This is an insult from Peru, it is not directed at any member of the band, it is as if he said God Dammit)

(Flavio said that a friend lent him the account of Tomate Triste and that later she changed the name of the account)

Flavio said that he hoped that people would find the song by chance so that everything would seem to them as if it came from heaven.

That's why he kept everything a secret until by chance Jmike (a Peruvian who apparently goes to the same university where the members went) asked a friend and out of that came out the whole story that they already know and they found the entire demo.

Diego said that when he made the songs he shared the audio with the members so they could hear how they sounded, hence Flavio edited everything and uploaded it, so that the band could get back together, a band that apparently did not have a marketing vision like Flavio had.

Maybe that's why the bad influence facebook page was hacked by Muslims and the band dissolved (there are things that the band also hides)

The members say that they don't know anything about Lost Media, they don't know who Jmike is and that they are fossils in the use of social networks, Alicia's song is a demo that they did everything with analog equipment:

I received a comment from Santa Nax, which apparently is Diego's stage name, he told me the following about the demo: "We recorded it in 2017 in my room with a 4-channel Tascam UB 400 and some dynamics hahaha from that date until now it is a lot of time"

(So the creation of the song is between 2015 and 2017 because they always say a different date, remember that this happened years ago and they don't remember it very well.)

They have more songs , some without names (like 6th song) and at the time of the band they made another version of "dreams 4ever" that is not a demo.

They were not aware of the search, according to Flavio it was all his own plan. The band said not to attack Flavio, that they read several of his comments and that Flavio also said some things that are lies and other things that only Flavio would know.

In the case of Richardvox they have no way to contact him and Jesus thinks his cover is cool, (people, don't attack Richard, he said several times that he hadn't done the song, he only did a cover because they asked him to)

Reflection:

This says a lot about the scene in Peru, many of the bands have no way of being noticed, even one of the pioneer bands in punk is from Peru, "los saicos" but many don't know that because the bands from latin america They are left aside and have to resort to making songs in English to be noticed. which is sad in my opinion, even I have a YouTube channel and my most viewed video is one in English. I see many of the band's problems reflected in the problems of the scene in Latin America. Un saludo

Part 2 - transalation of Instagram and Flavio Post

Ok, I didn't want to make a second part of the post because it seemed unnecessary to me but since the band referenced my words I'm going to continue spreading this soap opera like an old gossip.

Here I put the comment that I put in my previous post because I know that many do not read the comments. plus some updates.

In the live Diego apparently got upset because people released the song without his permission, so it is clear that he did not want to upload the songs to better-known pages and wanted to stay in the underground where the project did not succeed, very different from Flavio who wanted to share the song with everyone, Jesus for his part winked and gave Flavio a thumbs up in the broadcast since thanks to him they are together again.

The entire community grabbed the song without the band permission. If the song was not known before, it was because of the band. Although it is true that Flavio deceived people, it was the band who made the song become unknown in the first place.

Flavio did everything without consulting his colleagues and deceived thousands of people, yes, but he did it to give everyone the song and fame to the band.

I'm not saying it's bad but Machiavellian.

(Jmike, for his part, said that he had no way of contacting the members and when he saw the demo he was eager to publish it)

Flavio said that in 2023 the band got back together (supposedly without Diego (the singer) because he went to the United States) but that the group was changing its style to one that was heavier rock, also the band ignored Flavio when He wanted to keep the song Dream 4ever as it was, that's why Flavio hid the fame of Alice's song from the members, so that it wouldn't become a hypocritical band that only plays a song for fame instead of music.

In this case, Flavio was the first to trust the quality and scope of the song Dream 4ever, and he was the first true fan of the song.

Flavio said that there is no problem with Diego, that they talk and they get along "normally", but with the rest of the band, Maybe Flavio won't come back because of the attitude they showed.

Diego said for his part and in defense of the band that all groups change, sometimes an album is nothing like the previous one and that he keeps all the songs he had made during those years and listens to them occasionally to have those memories with him. he doesn't hate the music he made or anything like that.

On the part of the community it is true that the song was unknown, yes, but because the band never released the songs in official format to make themselves known. When we upload and share it without permission we are just as guilty, and I don't say this as a bad thing or a good thing.

You have to ask yourself these questions: Did the band members appreciate the song? If it weren't for the lost wave, wouldn't the song have been so shared and recognized? Or is it hypocritical to return for fame when they had already decided to change their style?

I ask because I see many despise Flavio for making a hoax, but at the end of the day Flavio had his reasons and the band was going to change its style, without Flavio's help the song would not even be known and that is the truth. The search for the song and its fame was carried out because we wanted to search for it, no one forced us.

I hope the band gets back together and uses their fame honestly, since it arose from Flavio's hoax.
